Cristina Baldacci is associate professor in History of Contemporary Art at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage) and affiliated faculty member at THE NEW INSTITUTE Centre for Environmental Humanities (NICHE), where she coordinates the “Ecological Art Practices” research cluster and the “Art Ecologies” series. Her research interests focus mainly on Art, nature and ecology; Art and photography in the Anthropocene; Archiving and collecting as artistic practices; Appropriation, montage and reenactment in contemporary art – all topics on which she has published extensively. She is a regular contributor to art magazines and occasionally curates exhibitions.
