Second Austrian Assessment Report on Climate Change published

On 17th June 2025, the Second Austrian Assessment Report on Climate Change (AAR2) was presented in a press conference held by the Federal Ministry Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management.

In the report, modelled on the process of the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC), over 200 scientists from more than 50 institutions worked for three years on a comprehensive analysis of climate impacts in Austria and possible pathways for sustainable transformation.

Dr. Sarah Haider-Nash of the Platform for Sustainable Development at the University of Continuing Education Krems contributed to the report as a lead author in Chapter 6 on Climate Governance, which covers political, legal, economic and societal aspects of climate change in Austria.
